When we received a plea to help with almost a dozen puppies living out in the desert, we couldn’t say no. With the sweltering summer sun and triple digit temperatures only weeks away, we knew we had to act...and fast.

We drove to what felt like the middle of nowhere, and we took as many dogs as the owners were willing to surrender. We ended up with nine puppies, mama, and another young boy we think might be from mama’s first litter. We lovingly named them the “Irish 11” because we felt so lucky to have them. And they didn’t know it yet, but their luck [and lives] were about to change for the better!

We scrambled to setup our sanctuary for its first ever residents, and holy moly we could not have asked for a more perfect group of babies! We have all been blown away by how sweet, smart, friendly and social each of these puppies are. They are so adorable and truly have the best dispositions — not too surprising, though, because their daddy was reportedly a Great Pyrenees, a breed known for their loyalty, smarts, and overall good-nature.   

At just 8 months old, these [big] puppies are SO great with people of all ages…kids included! They are currently learning basic commands such as “sit”, “lay” and “place”, and they are already kennel trained. Their adoption fee includes their completed veterinary exams, spay/neuters, microchips, and three rounds of vaccines, including rabies.
