MEET MONTY!

 Monty’s story started at the shelter several months ago, where he became severely sick and was diagnosed with Distemper. Distemper is a deadly, yet entirely preventable disease, which has claimed the lives of so many dogs. The shelter did not have the resources to provide the necessary treatment or care for Monty, and he was placed on the euthanasia list. We knew he deserved a chance, and we were determined to give him one. 

Monty spent months receiving extensive medical treatment. At times, we didn’t know if he would survive, and if he did, what his quality of life would be. We had no idea what his future would hold- or if there would even be one for him. 

Monty went on every conventional and holistic med and supplement we could get him on to help him fight the virus. We were so committed to curing Monty we booked him his very own AirBnb so he could have a calm, quiet place to recover that wasn't a hospital isolation ward. We waited almost six weeks for the news we had been hoping for...Monty made a miraculous recovery and officially beat the virus. Our boy is so strong and SUCH a survivor! 

Two year old Monty is now a happy, healthy dog, and we began to see his true personality shine. He is so fun! Being young, active, and clearly never taught any manners, we put Monty in a two week obedience training program. He has now mastered commands like “Sit”, “Lay”, “Place “, “Leave It” and walks well on a leash. Monty, you make us so proud, buddy! 

With his health and manners on track, the only thing Monty is missing is a home. He would be an ideal dog for anyone with an active, outdoorsy, social lifestyle. He loves outings and adventures -- hiking, walks, road trips, you name it, he will gladly go! While Monty cannot go to a home with cats, he adores all dogs, and “the more the merrier” is his motto!
