Meet, Murphy! 

We met 10 month old Murphy in the midst of a crazy rescue mission. We were made aware of 13+ dogs living on a property in the middle of the Arizona desert, including a litter of puppies and their mama, who desperately needed help. When we got there, we realized there were many, many more dogs in need of saving...Murphy being one of them! He wasn’t part of the “plan” for that day, but we could clearly see he needed us, and we weren't about to leave him behind.

The moment we met Murphy it was obvious he had missed out on those precious, carefree and developmentally important months as a puppy -- those months where he should have been in a home, learning to be loved by a family and living his best dog life. Instead, he spent those months living outside in the desert, sleeping on dirt under the hot sun, with minimal human contact. 

Given all of this, Murphy was initially a little grumbly, growly, and pancake-to-the-floor type.  But he was certainly all bark and no bite. We get the "nervous boy" act though...he was separated from his siblings and pulled from the only life he had ever known. Who wouldn’t be scared?

Since coming into our care, we’ve made it our mission to make Murphy feel all the love -- which has helped him tremendously. He’s progressed SO much in the short few weeks that we’ve had him. From sitting slumped in the corner of his kennel to standing at the front with a wagging tail, he has made such a transformation. Seeing Murphy morph into the cutest, happiest, most playful and confident pup makes our hearts explode. He's finally become the carefree puppy he should have been for the last 10 months.

If you’re thinking about adopting, Murphy would be an easy addition! He is the oldest brother of the nine other puppies we took in, which means he’s full of patience and politeness with other dogs. He has a sweet but sometimes still shy temperament with people, so it may take him a minute to realize you're his friend too. But give him a few minutes and he'll be wanting all the pets and love!
