MEET SAMSON

Samson- or Sammy for short- came to our rescue after he was found in a home with his deceased owner.  We couldn’t allow Sammy to go to a stressful shelter at his age, so we welcomed him into our rescue.

We brought him to our sanctuary where he was allowed time to decompress, was showered with love from our staff and volunteers and got to see our medical team.  Although we could see moments of sadness in his eyes, there was nothing a good cuddle or walk couldn’t do to help him.  Then the best day ever came, and Sammy met his best friend, his foster mom. Sammy was off to live in a home and start some much-needed medical treatment.  There is nothing like a home filled with love to cure a broken heart.

Sammy is a very easy-going, incredibly sweet and loves everyone he meets! He has been able to have a lot of fun with his foster mom and explore some dog friendly patios, go for car rides and take short walks daily.  One of the cutest things to watch Sammy do is run and the second cutest is watching him sleep in a comfy bed, his little tongue peaks out!  He loves bath time!  He will stand there and let you lather him up with soap and massage him like he’s at a spa!  At Sammy’s age, change can be difficult, and we are so proud of him and his zest for life!

Sammy recently had 17 teeth removed, a dental to clean up the rest of the remaining teeth and diagnosed with valley fever.  He will need to take medication for valley fever which he loves because we hide it in cheese!   Sammy would absolutely love to be around his people full time and other calm dogs.  He does not enjoy being crated or away from the family.  Sammy truly loves everyone but wants his home life to be calmer and more relaxed. Therefore, he would do best in a home with older children. And if you are one of those parents who loves to dress up your dogs, Sammy is totally up for it!
