MEET WILSON

In rescue, we never know what each day will bring. We just have to “roll with” all the unexpected and unplanned- such is the case with our Wilson.

Wilson was on the shelter’s euthanasia list and it was the day of his deadline. Our rescue received requests to save him but we were on an “intake freeze”, meaning we couldn’t commit to any more dogs. We were just too full and had dozens of dogs already in our care. Other rescues were in the same situation. Wilson had no hope of getting out alive. Until, at the last minute, we received a request to rescue Wilson for an adopter. While we couldn’t take Wilson on ourselves, we are always willing to save a life for an appropriate adopter. 

Wilson was with the adopter for weeks but unfortunately, the adoption did not work out. Although, we had not planned on having Wilson, will never allow any dog we save to go back to a shelter. So, Wilson is with us now! We always like to have a positive perspective in these situations, especially with the exceptionally negative nature of rescue.  The silver lining in this situation is that although the adoption did not work out, if it hadn’t of been for the adopter, Wilson would not be alive today. What's meant to be, will be... and Wilson was just meant to be ours! 

We hadn’t planned on having Wilson but we’re sure happy he’s here! We’re learning all about his quirky qualities and he starting to slowly come out of his shell. At the shelter, Wilson was at risk for his under socialized behaviors. He’s still the same shy guy, but never too terrified to take treats- which is the secret to his heart. We have started socializing Wilson and he's already made great strides in the short times he's been with us. 

We could like to have Wilson in a foster or forever home , so he can continue to progress. Wilson's adoption fee includes his completed veterinary exams, vaccines, microchip and neuter.
