When it comes to a ‘special needs’ dog, there should be emphasis on the word ‘special’ –  because there is nothing more special than a dog like Dean!

A one-year old Miniature Pinscher-mix, Dean was likely born without eyesight, but it does not stop him from enjoying life to the fullest! He loves to play with toys and with other dogs. He has a joyful spirit and doesn’t let what he doesn’t have bring him down. He was found on the side of a busy road by a Good Samaritan who luckily was able to save him before he got into the busy street or highway nearby! 

Due to his lack of eyesight, Dean works hard to learn his new environment. He’s a very smart boy, who adapts quickly, but can get frightened by new sounds. Thankfully, he’s resilient and works through those fears with reassurance that he is safe. He is treat motivated and loves to learn new words. With consistency, Dean will be able to learn lots of new things! 

Dean currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and cats, and he loves having these friends to play with. He can also keep himself entertained with his toys and a chase of his own tail. We would love to see Dean in a home with humans that understand his special needs and can give him the time to acclimate to his surroundings and sounds.  He can be in a home with children who are gentle because any new hands or fingers around him can make him nervous.  

We know that this special boy will bring lots of joy to his perfect forever home. Dean’s adoption fee includes a completed veterinary exam, vaccinations, chip and neuter.
