Full-Time Veterinarian

$200,000 - $300,000 depending on experience and skills | Benefits are in process

Our organization specializes in saving critically ill, injured, abandoned and euthanasia-listed dogs that often arrive with complex medical conditions requiring advanced diagnostics, surgery, hospitalization and long-term rehabilitation and care plans.

This is not a typical general practice position.

Our veterinarian will oversee the medical care of approximately 100+ rescue dogs while helping build one of Arizona's most unique nonprofit veterinary programs.

We're looking for more than technical skill. We're looking for someone who loses sleep over the dog everyone else has given up on. Someone who doesn't stop searching for answers when the textbook runs out. Someone who values collaboration, communication, creativity and compassionate medicine.

• Provide comprehensive medical care for rescue dogs
• Perform soft tissue surgery (orthopedic surgery abilities and experience is a major advantage)
• Manage emergency and critical care cases
• Be on-call for emergency intakes and urgent cases
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Work closely with technician, fosters and rescue staff
• Maintain detailed medical records and excellent communication

• Minimum 5+ years of clinical experience
• Emergency medicine experience strongly preferred
• Internal medicine experience highly desirable
• Extensive soft tissue surgery experience required
• Orthopedic surgery experience preferred
• Comfortability managing medically complex patients
• Openness to or experience with integrative or holistic therapies alongside conventional medicine

• Ability to be on your feet for entire scheduled shift
• Lift up to 60 lbs.

Animal Care Specialist

Starting at $20/hour

Six hour shifts within the hours of 6 am - 8:30 pm, Monday - Sunday

Caring for the animals at our sanctuary requires an incredible amount of compassion, time, and effort. We are looking for team members who are just as committed as we are to saving those lives who are in most critical need. As part of the Animal Care Team, you will be responsible for caring for our animals and maintaining our sanctuary to the highest standards to keep everyone happy and healthy. Our goal is not just to save, shelter and care for homeless animals; we also want to provide our community with highly adoptable pets that will be successful in loving, supportive, and committed homes.

• Clean and sanitize the sanctuary according to our strict sanitation guidelines and protocols. This includes but is not limited to sanitizing doggy suites, play rooms, yards and other sanctuary spaces, doing laundry, emptying trashes, washing bowls and dishes, etc.
• Feed animals and have complete knowledge of animal feeding procedures including administering medications for our medical needs dogs
• Consider and treat our dogs as one of your own. Each dog that enters our rescue is part of our family for life. All employees (and volunteers) must treat them with the utmost love and respect and handle them safely and with care, always.
• Observe each dog's daily behavior and log medical and behavior notes
• Assist with volunteer and new employee trainings when needed
• Complete other duties as needed
