Maricopa County, the county with the second highest intake in the country, is experiencing a pet overpopulation crisis. Thousands of adoptable dogs are being euthanized every year, primarily due to a lack of space in overcrowded shelters and a shortage of resources. Love Them All is dedicated to reducing the number of animals unnecessarily euthanized. We are determined to do everything we can to save more lives.
Since opening two years ago in June 2020, we have welcomed almost 300 animals into the rescue and have transferred almost 400 scheduled-to-be-euthanized dogs to partner rescues when we did not have the capacity to intake. We have remained an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. Each of our animals is placed in a foster home while they receive any medical and behavioral care they might need. Right now, fosters are critical to our mission. However, we experience many limitations as a result. The most detrimental limitation to being a foster-based rescue is that we do not have enough homes equipped to take in the special cases that we do. Every day we receive pleas to help animals in need, and every day we have to refuse help because we don’t have an appropriate place to put the dogs. This breaks our hearts. While we are proud of our life-saving endeavors thus far, we want to make a bigger impact.
We are opening a canine rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary to significantly increase our impact and support our mission of saving pets who would otherwise be discarded by our local shelters. This physical location will enable us to annually intake almost six times the number of lives we saved in 2022, so we can continue easing the burden on overcrowded shelters. Beyond that, this sanctuary facility will allow us to do so much more to give back to our community and improve animal welfare in the state of Arizona.
We are seeking $5,570,000 to purchase, renovate and cover three years of operating expenses for our rehabilitation sanctuary in Scottsdale, AZ. The 1.9 acre lot has two buildings totaling 16,000 sq. ft. of interior space. The purchase price was $2,375,000, and we have currently raised $2,623,426 to buy the property and begin bare bones renovations. We closed on the property on November 16, 2022. Now, we have significant work to do before we can move dogs into the space and begin operations.
Ultimately, there will be two phases of plans for this property. We are currently seeking monetary donations to cover phase one: the purchase of the property, phase one renovations, first year operating expenses, and two additional years of operating.
Our proposed design/build and operating budgets can be found on pages 8-10 of our proposal below. All numbers are estimated. Any dollars raised over our goal amount will be used diligently to further our operations and enhance the quality and level of care that we provide to our animals. Opportunities for naming rights can be seen here.
We recognize the significant need for increased space and resources for the growing homeless pet population here in Maricopa County. We feel called to help in a greater capacity than we are able to currently take on as a foster-based rescue. With a sanctuary and rehabilitation center, we will be able to intake almost six times the number of lives we saved in 2022, streamline our operations, build our resources, increase awareness, and give back to our community. We can say with great confidence that this project will be completed with a strong attention to detail for both the animals and our community alike. With your help, we can make big changes in the state of animal welfare here in Arizona. We hope that you will join us on our mission to save more lives. We cannot bring this sanctuary to life without you.
We closed on our property on 11/16/22.
We have currently raised $2,623,436 of our $5,570,000 capital campaign goal. We need an additional $2,946,574 to renovate the space, hire the necessary staff, and cover three years of operations.
We need your help to make this happen.
See below for naming opportunities. We want to recognize your generosity!
We believe in the importance of recognizing the people who will make this project a reality. These naming rights are a great way to recognize our donors and/or the memory of their beloved family members (human and furbaby alike). To secure a spot, please email christine@lovethemallrescue.org.
These donations are gifted in full and come with lifetime naming rights:
These donations will come with naming rights for five (5) years with 5 year annual commitments and first rights to renew. Fulfilling these will cover our total projected annual operating expenses.
