Rio was one of seven 7-month-old puppies rescued from the streets in terrible condition. After being taken to the local shelter, they were scheduled for euthanasia due to sarcoptic mange—a contagious but completely treatable condition.

Today, Rio is fully recovered and ready to experience the loving home he deserves! This smart boy is already house-trained, crate-trained, walks perfectly on leash, and knows basic commands.

Rio enjoys playing with dogs his size or larger and does best with older children. Though slightly shy with new people and places, he warms up quickly with patience and gentle encouragement. His ideal family would be active, provide consistent routines, and possibly include a canine companion.

Despite his rough start, Rio's personality shines with playful energy and curiosity. He absolutely loves toys of all kinds—from balls to puzzle toys to squeakers—and approaches life with endearing enthusiasm.

Zara and her sister, Zoey, were found as strays on the streets of Phoenix at only four months old. With no vaccinations on board, they sadly contracted Parvovirus. They were taken to the county shelter where they were both at risk to be euthanized. We received a plea to help them, and we just couldn't say no. 

Because Parvo is an often deadly virus, both girls were immediately hospitalized and needed emergency care. Thankfully, the girls were quickly on the up, feeling better, and discharged after just two days. Talk about fighters! At just four months old, these two girls survived the streets, the shelter's euthanasia list and a vicious virus!

Zara LOVES playing with other dogs, and in between play bursts, you'll find her snoozing away in her crate. She’s so smart and has been working on socialization, potty training and sleeping through the night. We would love to see Zara in a home with an active family who can continue to work on basic training and make sure she gets the exercise and activity she needs for a pup her age.  She would do best in a home with older children and would love a doggy friend!
