ADOPTABLE ADULT DOGS

 At just a year old, Ashley was sadly surrendered to the county shelter when the cute “puppy-phase” was over, and they "didn't have time for her". Scared, confused, and beyond nervous in such a stressful environment,  Ashley was placed on the euthanasia list for her fearful kennel behavior and lack of proper socialization. We took her in knowing this beautiful girl deserved a chance to learn that this world doesn't have to be so scary after all.

Ashley turned a corner with us, and her personality began to blossom. We put her with our trainer to work on basic obedience, socialization and confidence.  Her achievements in training have been amazing! She has been out socializing with people (and dogs) in public places. She has learned impulse control and commands such as “sit”, “place”, “lay”, "let's go", door expectation and “leave it”.  Ashley isn’t just a beauty, she’s got brains too!

Ashley is now ready for a home -- the most perfect home for her.  We are looking for adopters who can give her the patience, structure, routine, activity and adventure she needs to continue to blossom and grow. We are looking for a home with no children. Ashley would do best in a calm, consistent household committed to continuing her training and socialization.

DOG-FRIENDLY. PLAYFUL. LOVES PEOPLE!

Georgie arrived at the county shelter with a fractured femur, landing him on the euthanasia list. At only a year old, there was no way we could let a little thing like a broken leg cut his life so short! We stepped in to save him so he could get the medical care and surgery he needed.

Now, Georgie is showing off just how brave, resilient and adaptable dogs can be as he recovers and learns to navigate life as a tripod. Spoiler alert: he is happy, wiggly and just SO ecstatic to be pain-free with that leg gone! He is already bouncing around and playing with other dogs. 

Georgie is an energetic, playful pup, even while learning to live life as a tripod, with both larger and smaller dogs. He loves new people, places and older children and prefers a home without stairs. He is crate- and house-trained, and he will totally impress you with his leash manners! 

He absolutely adores going on car rides and taking walks outdoors, though he is also a cuddly boy who will happily watch TV with you! Georgie is a curious, silly pup who is as smart as he is handsome. This boy really is a well-rounded — dare we say… a dream dog — just waiting for his forever family!

Hi! My name is Ruger, and I am a spunky, handsome, 4 year old, good doberboy looking for my furever family. I enjoy long walks on the beach, quiet nights at home with my family, a good meal, a warm bed and all the love I can get! If you are looking for a velcro Doberman, then look no further because this hunk of love likes to be right by your side. 

I am learning all about what it’s like to live in a nice warm (or cool in AZ) house. I enjoy the occasional bark at noises in the yard or things in the street, but it’s not excessive. I love to run in  the yard and play with all of my toys. I especially love soccer balls! I am learning to be a good boy on a leash and love my weekly, medicated bath. I even jump in the bath tub all by myself. 

I will need someone who will be willing to continue my treatment for valley fever and give me a weekly bath (my fur was all gone but is slowly growing in). I like cats a little too much so I need to be in a cat free home. I need people who respect my space and I'm not sure I'd like tiny humans too much. I love my 12 year old human brother because he knows how to love me just the way I like it. I kind of like to be the boss of the other dogs so a slow intro is a must if I'm going to be around other dogs. I do get along well with my current doberbrother most of the time.

When we imagine the life of a senior dog; it would look like several cozy places to lay, the finest foods and meds to help support an aging body, daily walks, car rides to your favorite places and endless amounts of love; like a lot of love.  Unfortunately for Baxter, at 9 years old, he found himself in an overcrowded shelter, on a concrete floor and with an injury and skin/coat issues.  We were absolutely crushed when we learned that the only way for Baxter to walk out of the shelter alive is if he had a rescue to back him.  Not only did our rescue back him; we promised him the life he has always deserved!  

Baxter has been an amazing dog to rehab.  His wounds have healed, his skin and coat are soft and shiny, and he has put on healthy weight! We have learned that Baxter’s love language is food and for that reason feel that a home with no children or older children 16+ would be best.  Baxter is very tall and strong and would prefer a family that is not intimidated by that because underneath that big body is one of the sweetest hearts you will ever meet.  He really enjoys being around his people, rides great in the car, walks well on a leash and is a social butterfly.  Baxter hasn’t spent too much time around other dogs in our care but from what we have seen, he would do well as the only dog or with other dogs that do not want to play or jump on him.  He enjoys keeping to himself and playing with his favorite toys!

Angelique found herself on the county’s euthanasia list when she arrived at the shelter with a large, open wound on one of her rear legs. Being in a loud, scary environment and in so much pain, she was fearful and shut down. We knew her story couldn’t end there. All she needed was proper medical attention and time to decompress.

We pulled her from the shelter and took her straight to the hospital for wound care. While her leg took weeks of dressings and bandage changes, it was only a few days after leaving the shelter that our sweet girl came out of her shell and showed us just how much love she has to give.

While a little shy at first, Angelique warms up quickly to new people, especially if she has a doggy friend or two to help her feel more confident, or, of course, if you tempt her with a treat! Angelique loves to watch TV by your side or play outside with toys and other dogs. Her fosters call her “perfect,” which is easy to believe because she is crate-trained, house-trained, walks well on her leash and knows basic obedience commands already!

Officially ready to find her forever home, we only ask that her new family give her grace and time to decompress so she can learn her new routine in her new home.
