Our rescue focuses on the most vulnerable, at-need dogs, like those with significant behavioral or medical issues that puts them at risk of euthanasia. If you have a dog that you are looking to rehome or surrender, we have compiled some resources and other organizations to contact.
Most organizations that accept owner surrenders require you to contact them, fill out a form and schedule an appointment to surrender them. Please be patient!
Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL)
Limited intake availability.
Arizona Humane Society (AHS)
Surrender appointments can be as far as four months out.
Only intakes animal- and people-friendly surrenders.
Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC)
Surrender appointments can be as far as one month out.
If you have a highly adoptable dog that you're looking to surrender, we encourage you to try to rehome your dog on your own as well. There are more online resources than ever before to responsibly rehome your dog.
You know your dog best, so owners are often the ones best equipped to find a new home for their dog. Here are some online resources that can help you list your dog for rehoming:
The community thanks you for taking the time and effort to secure a stray dog. As we continue to struggle with overcapacity at all levels, we ask finders be patient while looking for a rescue or shelter to intake.
If you find a stray dog, the first thing you can do it check for collar, tags or bring it to local vet or local pet store who can scan for a microchip. You can report the stray dog on Maricopa County Animal Care and Control's interactive map.
You can try to find the owner by checking local websites for lost dog flyers, such as:
Or posting on platforms for your community like:
The majority of strays will need to be brought to Maricopa County Animal Control Center (MCACC). Arizona Humane Society (AHS) will only take in injured strays.
If you have found an injured dog after hours, you can bring it to an emergency vet clinic who will care for the dog until AHS can pick them up the following day at no expense to you.

If you need help covering the cost of medical care of your pet, you can apply for financial assistance or create a crowd-funding campaign:
We have listed some known food banks or pet food banks, but you can view this community-sourced map of local food banks to find the one nearest to you. If you can, call ahead to verify they have pet food available.

Many rescues offer a "last litter" program that will offer assistance in spaying mama dog along with her pups to prevent any future litters.
The following organizations participate in a "Last Litter" (or similar) program that will provide assistance with spaying mama dog along with spaying/neutering and adopting out her puppies.
If the puppies are very young or injured, we recommend you contact Arizona Humane Society and post on local Facebook Groups for Rescues for immediate response.
The following local rescues are experienced in caring for and adopting out puppies:
Older puppies will be treated the same as any stray and will require a stray appointment.
Before rehoming your dog, we hope you'll try out some of the behavior and training resources to help you overcome any issues you're having with your dog.
CharlieBar is our preferred board and train facility and what Love Them All uses for many of our own residents. We have included a training cheat sheet that lays out the recommended structure and approach that is used by our preferred trainer, Ricardo Paredes. To learn more about his techniques and watch videos of how he works with the dogs, you can check out his Facebook page.
